This villa is located in El Madroñal, which sits within the municipal area of Benahavís and the stunning views it offers are just one of the many outstanding features it boasts.
A Look into the Concept Behind the Property
This villa is a renovation of an existing structure that fell into a state of disrepair, but whose conservation was the main goal of the renovation. The challenge that the architect and the rest of the design team faced was how to create a modern and contemporary villa that retained some of the key architectural elements of an Andalucian building.
There was a desire to create a property with clear, fresh spaces that connected interior and exterior areas rather than separated them, but all with the intention of maintaining the essence of an Andalucian villa.
This was achieved using a central courtyard that articulates the whole house, opening it all up and visually connecting all of the rooms to the exterior. A large plate of water presides over this patio on which large pieces of pavement seem to float, creating an atmosphere of reflection and dynamism.
The villa features the latest technologies in thermal comfort, acoustic and well-being that form the bedrock of the property.
